Home remedies for smoking

Smoking causes cancer. The effects are clear. Despite this millions of people smoke, and thousands die each year with cancer. Smoking offers temporal relief. Or one could say pseudo-temporal relief. People are tempted to believe that smoking can alleviate their stress. But the fact is that smoking only aggravates stress levels. Instead of taking in a mouthful of smoke, it is better to inhale a lung-full of air to alleviate stress.

What are the home remedies to combat smoking addiction? Although more than a home remedy, it is important to stop smoking completely, yet, here are some…

Coenzyme Q 10, also known as ubiquinone is a vitamin-like substance. It is highly beneficial for smokers, since it has an anti-smoking inducing quality to it. If 200mg of this substance is taken everyday, the crave for smoking decreases.

Grape seed extract has powerful anti-oxidizing properties. It sets-right any damages to the lung due to smoking. Remember that grape seed extract is never a complete cure for lung damage.

Intake of adequate amount of Vitamin C everyday fortifies the immune system. Smoking deprecates the Vitamin C levels in the body. Lack of Vitamin C can cause scurvy, muscle loss, and the inability to recover from injuries. Many types of fruit has Vitamin C content. Frozen concentrates of orange juice are very high in Vitamin C.

Taking cayenne pepper removes remnants of nicotine in the lungs. Cravings can be controlled to a great extent by taking cayenne pepper regularly. But remember to take it in moderation. Too much intake can cause acidity problems.

Prevention is as Important as the Cure

There is an alarming number of women these days who are not looking at their health seriously enough. Women are not thinking about their own futures in terms of health. They are thinking about financial things. They are wondering about assisted living years from now, but they are not taking a good look at their own personal health.

There are things that women, just like men, should be doing. In addition to following a good diet and exercise program, women should be getting yearly exams from their gynocologist. There are an alarming number of women who don’t do such things.

The issue is that there is often a wait-and-see approach to dealing with health issues. Many people, not just women, allow their own health to go unmonitored until there is something wrong. Going to a doctor is reserved for when there is pain or a visible problem, but not before hand. Women who wait until there is a problem run the risk of having to do more aggressive treatment to cure the ailment or have the possibility of not being able to cure it at all.

The key is to educate women from a very young age about disease prevention and good health habits. Young girls are often influence by their mothers and the other female role models in their life. Making the decision to get them started early on prevention will only force them to become more serious about it as they get older.

Some schools also teach about disease prevention to middle school and high school kids. This kind of reinforcement can be rather valuable to these kids. The bottom line is that prevention is paramount to controlling diseases and allowing women to think about their future health.

Is There Anything Sound Waves Can’t Do?

Sound waves are an incredible thing.  For one thing, they can be used to tell the police when someone is speeding (which might not be convenient if you happen to be the speeder, but it is nonetheless impressive), diagnose just about any kind of illness a person might have, and even take care of malignant growths inside of an internal organ.  These are the kinds of things that one would simply never suspect that the humble sound wave might be capable of doing.  For the most part, we typically just assume that sound waves let us hear things, and leave it at that rather cursory level of accomplishment.  But sound waves can do a whole lot more than just identify the basic goings on in the outside world.

Ultrasound technology has been in existence for decades, but seems to grow more effective with each passing year.  With an ultrasound device known as Doppler ultrasound, these extremely high frequency sound waves can pick up what is going on inside of your body at the very moment that it is happening.  Rather like a cop with a radar gun, this fantastic piece of equipment can tell a trained physician or technician how quickly blood is moving through your system.  This information can be in three dimensions, show the actual movement of the blood (and the organs that move the blood around), and whether anything suspicious or potentially dangerous exists (such as a blockage, blood vessel narrowing or malformed object like a tumor or congenital defect).

Sound waves can even allow a previously barbaric process of removing malignant (cancerous) cells from the walls of a man’s prostate to be elevated into the modern age.  If you are a man whose prostate is under threat, the notion of your own cells threatening your masculine power is scary enough – but the idea of a doctor shoving a metal tool in there and scraping off those cells could be a nightmare.  A better method actually uses extremely high frequency sound waves to essentially liquify (or cavitate) the cells into getting out of there.  Yay sound.
